Lamborghini, Technics Release Direct Drive Turntable System

Drawing Inspiration from Luxury Vehicles

Technics drew inspiration from Lamborghini’s distinctive Y-shape for the SL-1200M7B’s design and based its functions on models from the SL-1200 series. The company also included a vinyl record that resembles a tire and plays engine sounds from a variety of Lamborghini vehicles, such as the 400GT 2+2, 25th Anniversary Countach, Miura SV, Murcielago LP 640, Diablo 6.0 SE, and Revuelto.

Other design features include a Lamborghini-branded slipmat, a pair of stickers with both companies’ logos, and shades inspired by Lamborghini’s primary colors: Verde Shock, Apodis, Arancio, and Giallo Athon.

Specs for the SL-1200M7B

The SL-1200M7B measures approximately 18 by 7 by 14 inches (W x H x D), weighs just over 21 pounds, and consumes about eight watts of power. Additionally, the system features a two-layer structure platter with vibration dampening, a coreless direct drive motor, and a brake speed adjustment function.

To boost DJ flexibility, Technics added reverse play and pitch control functions. A stylus illuminator with a long-life LED also provides high brightness.

SL-1200M7B Coming to the U.S. Soon

Technics said the model will be available in the U.S. this July. According to the company’s website, pre-orders cost $1,599.
