Jaguar’s Bold New Type 00 Electric Concept Set for Global Tour, Including India Stop in June
The much-talked-about Jaguar Type 00 has sparked widespread attention and debate ever since its dramatic global reveal in late 2024 in Miami. Following its North American debut, the electric GT concept made a striking impression in Paris earlier this year, marking its European unveiling. Now, Jaguar has announced that the vehicle will be heading to a select number of global cities—Mumbai among them—spreading its aggressive design and innovative electric platform to a wider international audience.
Currently on display in Monaco, the Type 00 will soon travel to Munich, Tokyo, and ultimately Mumbai, where it will be showcased on June 14, 2025. The visit marks an important moment for Jaguar in the Indian market, giving potential customers and enthusiasts a firsthand look at the direction of the brand’s all-electric future.
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has also confirmed that it has had more than 32,000 expressions of interest worldwide for the Type 00, highlighting the model’s robust initial reception. The Type 00 is the first of a new generation of electric Jaguars, marking the company’s move towards becoming an all-electric luxury brand. Concurrently, the Range Rover Electric, which is to come, has already seen over 61,000 bookings, pointing to the increasing demand for premium electric vehicles in JLR’s lineup.
The Type 00 deviates from Jaguar’s design heritage in terms of appearance. In contrast to the elegant and curved lines of previous Jaguars, the straight, boxy front fascia is a drastic departure from the GT-like profile created by its tall bonnet, sloping roofline, and rear-set cabin. The automobile stands out from its predecessors thanks to its bold and futurist. The production version of the Type 00 will be a four-door electric GT, expected to debut globally in late 2025. Jaguar has revealed that the model will offer an impressive driving range of up to 770 km on a single charge—putting it at the forefront of long-range EVs in the luxury segment.
The Type 00 is at the pioneering of deciding Jaguar’s future course as the company reinvents itself for the electric age. Its global tour is a statement of intent rather than merely an exhibition. And it’s clear that Jaguar views India as a key market for its electrified future given that the country is on the list of preview destinations.
