Hero MotoCorp’s VIDA is poised to transform electric two-wheeler ownership in India with a first-of-its-kind Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model in India starting July 1, 2025.
In a daring move that strives to democratize electric mobility, Hero MotoCorp is launching the VIDA Vx2 under a first-of-its-kind, subscription-based Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model; thereby lowering the economic barriers to EV adoption, and offers a more inclusive, flexible, and future enlightened product for Indian consumers.
By utilizing a ‘pay-as-you-go’ battery subscription system that simplifies ownership by allowing users to de-couple the cost of the scooter and the battery, Hero MotoCorp allows customers to break-up the upfront cost associated with ownership into manageable monthly payments. In addition, customers are able to select battery plans that work with their daily or monthly usage patterns; improving affordability and flexibility.
With the launch of the VIDA Vx2 BaaS (Battery as a Service) scooter, VIDA is not only launching a scooter, it is redesigning how Indian customers use and own electric vehicles. Customers will now experience more variety and more economic efficiencies helped by VIDA’s quickly expanding electric vehicle charging and service network, including 3,600 fast-charging stations and 500+ service points across 100+ cities in India.
As part of Hero MotoCorp’s long-lasting EV vision, this customer-first innovation focuses on mass adoption of EV products, while providing India’s urban and semi-urban riders with more choice in a growing electric vehicle ecosystem.
